Minutes LCACP Certification Criteria Committee - 22 May 2008
Present at the meeting were: Amy Costello, Matthias Fischer, Sebastien Humbert, Gary Jakubcin, Sean McGinnis, Ines Sousa, Rita Schenck, Bo Weidema, Philip White, and Liila Woods.
Rita asked that the group review the recertification document, especially paying attention to the CEU section, so it could be discussed at a later meeting.
The group discussed how best to review the questions. Going through them one at a time over the phone did not seem to be the best approach. It was agreed that each question should be reviewed for the following issues:
1) Is the question clear?
2) Is it appropriately relevant to the topic?
3) Is it unique (not a repeat of someone else’s question?)
4) Does it somehow conflict with some other question?
5) Does it give away the answer to another question?
To share the work load of reviewing, three teams were put together:
- To answer question 1) Matthias, Annie, Gary and Bo
- To answer question 2) Rita, Philip and Bo
- To answer questions 3, 4 and 5, Rita, Sean and Ines.
Rita will put all the questions into one document, posted in the password-protected portion of the website. She noted that not all the questions had been submitted.
All the committee members will send their reviews to Rita and she will compile the responses. The committee is encouraged to present comments as well.
The next committee teleconference is scheduled the 5th of June at 8 am Pacific, 11 am Eastern.
