WHY BE CERTIFIED?
The Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional Exam is coming up. Why should you take it?
- To distinguish yourself from the many LCA wannabes: the certification shows that you really know LCA: the standards and practice that go into this highly technical undertaking.
- To show to your internal and (especially) external customers that you understand the ethical issues related to LCA practice and have taken a stand on transparency and honesty in practice. An LCA performed by an LCACP is one that can be taken as accurate regardless of who pays for the study.
- To show to current and potential employers that you are a professional, with all that implies for credibility and the value you bring to your work.
- To be part of the community working towards improvement in LCA practice in the US and elsewhere.
The American Center for Life Cycle Assessment developed and manages the Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCACP) Certification. LCACPs have demonstrated experience in performing LCAs and have passed a stringent test of their knowledge of the field of Life Cycle Assessment. LCACPs conform to the ACLCA Ethics Statement, undertake continuing education requirements and are subject to professional review in the event of complaints.
