Teaching LCA – Integrated educational package

The idea of life cycle assessment has become popular recently. To be able to support the industry desire to have LCAs performed, there has been a growing need for LCA to be taught in the classroom. Most LCA curriculums are still evolving. To promote the teaching of LCA and to aid with evolving curriculums, an educational package has been created by PE Americas/International to help professors to teach and students to learn LCA. The package consists of a LCA software specifically developed for teaching LCA complete with examples, a tutorial video series, and a student handbook. Both the videos and the handbook will start with an introduction of LCA, based on the ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 documents, along with walk-through examples guiding students through the steps of LCA studies.

In this day long session, the videos, software and handbooks will be introduced allowing the attendees to see what a typical student or professor would experience upon using the educational package.
